In the wake of Russia's recent joining of The Hague's Treaty for the Prevention of Child Abduction, certain Russian government delegations were dispatched to a number of EU countries.

In Austria, the official governmental delegation, led by Sergey V. Pchelintsev first visited the Austrian Ministery for Justice. Subsequently it met with Dr. Alfred R. Kriegler, renowned expert for family law, in his office. The objective of the two hour plus meeting was consultation and exchange of views regarding the establishment of like institutions in Russia as well as training of people dealing with related matters.
